Golfclub Asphalt is a project aimed at promoting miniature golf and, more broadly, play in public spaces and on residential streets. We use this most delightful of all sports as a playful exploration of spatial conditions to reinvent public space. Residential streets offer the freedom to use street space in a different — more social, more creative — way, apart from motorized traffic.
Golfclub Asphalt is exploring this potential by creating miniature golf courses on the streets throughout the city. The courses are formed by existing structural elements (curbs, tree pits, manhole covers, street gutters, stairs, etc.). Together with interested participants, residents, and passersby, we regularly transform and play on the street space. With our miniature golf bike trailer, we’ll be out in the neighborhood, lending out clubs, balls, and scorecards for free, and inviting everyone to play together on the residential streets.
Golclub Asphalt now consists of three branches: the Golclub Hernals, the Golfclub Favoriten, and the Golfclub Asphalt Linz.
